The Watoto Children’s Choir has travelled from Uganda to captivate its Nhill audience with songs, dances and stories.
Coordinator Jenny Creek said the choir was well-known around the world. She said the community felt privileged to have the group return for the second time.
Mrs Creek said the performance will be a different cultural experience for the community.
“They will learn a lot about African cultural through the way the choir sings and dance. The children will also be telling their stories about life back in Watoto,” she said.
The Watoto Children’s Choir is a group of 18 children from a Watoto village who have suffered the loss of one or both of their parents. The Watato’s Neighbourhood Project has offered the children with support and an education.
Mrs Creek said the concert will start at 7pm at the Nhill Community Centre. She said admission was free, but there will be opportunities to make donations throughout the evening.
