Even the Swifts, currently in third on 40 points, are just two games ahead of seventh-placed Noradjuha-Quantong.
The Swifts go head-to-head with Harrow-Balmoral at the weekend in what is shaping up to be a huge encounter.
The Southern Roos are sixth on 36 points, one game behind the Swifts and one game ahead of the Bombers.
With a middle section of the table that features Kalkee on 36 and Edenhope-Apsley on 40, the fight for a spot in the top six is heating up.
The Swifts and Southern Roos played out a close game earlier in the season with the Stawell-based club winning by one goal in round five.
Swifts coach Courtney Morrow said her side would be missing a couple of players for the game.
“Drew Smith and Laura Farrer will step up,” she said.
“The have A Grade experience so they will do a fine job.
The Baggies go into the match well-rested, enjoying the bye last weekend.
“We are all feeling rested and ready to finish the season off strongly,” she said.
“It was a great win last time against Harrow-Balmoral. We go in knowing it is a new game but we are full of confidence and know if we play our game we have what it takes to beat them.”
Elsewhere, Noradjuha-Quantong faces a huge test against Edenhope-Apsley as it tries to hunt down a finals spot.
Natimuk United should have no troubles when it hosts Taylors Lake, Jeparit-Rainbow and Pimpinio should match up well at Rainbow and Laharum welcomes Rupanyup.
