Hindmarsh Shire Council this month granted a request from the committee to allocate $10,200 of its own money to the project.
The town committee requires council approval for projects worth more than $2000.
The gazebo will be on the eastern side of the Wimmera River, adjacent to the weir and the Nine Creeks walking track.
The committee received a quote from a Mildura-based company to supply and install the eight sided gazebo for $10,200.
Major upgrade works were completed at the weir in 2014, and included repairs to the original weir gates, walkway and pier, and construction of a spillway.
GWMWater transferred weir ownership to Hindmarsh Shire Council in 2013.
