If the Demons side can maintain an eight point advantage over the third-placed Ararat it would not be able to lose it’s double-chance with tow rounds to play.
Coach Deek Roberts said he knew just how important that could prove for his side.
“It’s a huge game for us because we need to continue to maintain our form in order to try and secure top spot as well,” he said.
“We still need to work on a few key areas that were a little off against Minyip-Murtoa.”
Roberts will be forced to coach from the sidelines after he broke his leg in the third quarter against the Burras.
“As much as I’d obviously like to be out there playing I’ve got a look at as an opportunity to have a more hands on approach as coach,” he said.
“It will be a different challenge but one I’m looking forward to because I can have an impact as coach at more than just the breaks.”
He said a number of players in the Demons’ reserves side as well as its under-17s would be a chance to come in to replace him.
“The boys were really positive on the track and I think we’re really well placed,” he said.
Nhill’s ability to win clearances and its tendency to look inside for options will be areas the Demons will look to counter.
“We like to think the defensive side of our game is what really sets us up a lot of the time,” Roberts said.
“Our clearance work hasn’t been at its best and we’ll really be focused on those three areas.”
