The Jets got off to a flying start in the TAC Cup encounter, kicking 4.5 to nothing in the opening term, aided by a strong breeze.
When the Rebels had their turn with the wind, they could only manage 1.3, putting GWV on the back foot for the remainder of the match.
Coach Marc Greig said the group simply struggled to win enough of the ball, losing the clearance count by 10, while there was not too many players that won their position on the day.
“The damage was done in quarter one,” Greig said.
“We couldn’t win or halve our contests, it came down to that.
“They just adapted (to the conditions) better than us.”
Inconsistency continues to haunt the Rebels, having had two impressive wins over the last four rounds, followed up by disappointing losses.
“Coming off a really good win last week, then to dish up that was disappointing.”
