This game is a must win for Robbie Miller’s Mountain Men, if the team manage a victory – pending other results – could play a part in the 2018 finals series.
The Mountain Men need the Swifts to defeat Natimuk United and Kalkee to defeat Noradjuha-Quantong.
Miller said sitting around, waiting to hear other results after the game will be tough.
“Natimuk and Swifts is what we will keep our eye on,” he said.
“It’s going to be an interesting finish to the season, that’s for sure.”
Miller said he doesn’t think the Lakers will take the game lightly.
“It’s their last opportunity to get a win on the board, so I dare say they will throw everything at it and probably rate themselves this game,” he said.
“We’re going to use the opportunity to play some juniors and get some more senior experience into them.”
Miller said he had worked tirelessly with his team after its game against Harrow-Balmoral in round 17.
“Hopefully we can put them in place against Taylors Lake this weekend,” he said.
“We are capable of playing good football but it’s just the consistency that hurts us from time-to-time.”
Miller said his players have had the realisation they need to win tighter games to play finals.
