Horsham police Sergeant Eddie Malpas confirmed that police were called to the event on Blue Ribbon Road at Kalkee after receiving reports of an assault.
“On August 18 at approximately 9.30pm, an altercation broke out between three or four people at the location,” he said.
“A 22-year-old man from South Australia was allegedly punched on the left side of his face.
“Another victim, also a 22-year-old South Australian man, was allegedly punched in the face, which caused him to fall to the ground.”
Sergeant Malpas said the two victims were taken to Wimmera Base Hospital.
“They were suffering from abrasions to the jaw and face areas,” he said.
“Police are still continuing their investigations. The offender is unknown at this stage.”

A woman, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Wimmera Mail-Times that the alleged perpetrator assaulted “five or six different people”.
The woman said two Ararat men were assaulted, along with the men from South Australia. She alleged the perpetrator “broke someone’s jaw and kicked another person in the back”.
The woman said one person now had “hearing problems, another has memory problems, and one has two black eyes and bite marks to his face and nipple”.
“The perpetrator is from Melbourne,” the woman said.
“He apparently had a group of minions with him, egging him on – but they didn't assault anyone.”
The woman alleged the perpetrator also damaged vehicles and committed thefts.
The Mail-Times contacted the event organisers for comment but did not receive a response before deadline.
