Weather statistics compiled by Mr Allender show that both the monthly rainfall and average maximum temperatures came in almost right on the long-term average for August.
A total of 42.2mm of rain was recorded at the college during August, just shy of the long-term average of 42.7mm.
The total August rainfall was received over 19 days.
The highest daily total of 11.0mm was recorded on August 8.
Mr Allender said that Longerenong College statistics indicate that the rainfall for 2018 is now 178.6mm.
“This is still some 95mm below average to the end of August,” Mr Allender said.
“By way of comparison, both 2016 and 2017 had registered around 290mm of rain at this stage of the year,” Mr Allender said.
He said that the winter rainfall total of 102.8mm was below the long-term average of 131mm.
However, this is similar to last year's winter rainfall total of 104mm.
The average winter maximum temperature of 14.6 degrees was above the long-term average of 14.0 degrees and was the highest since the 14.8 degrees recorded in 2013.
The highest maximum temperature for the month of August was 20.4 degrees.
This top temperature was recorded on Friday, August 10.
