With a decent breeze going one way, the Southern Roos kicked the opening three goals of the game and kept the Rams goalless in the first quarter.
Natimuk United worked its way back into the game in the second term, using the wind to its advantage.
The Southern Roos could not add any goals in the second term. By half-time, their lead was just two points.
The wind continued to be a huge advantage, as Harrow-Balmoral worked its way back out to a handy lead in the third term.
Connor Deutscher kicked two of Harrow-Balmoral’s three third-quarter goals.
The Rams kicked a vital set shot goal after the siren through Mark Eldridge to give the side a fighting chance going into the final term.
Eldridge’s goal was the only goal kicked against the wind for the entire game.
Despite having the breeze on their side in the final term, the Rams could not capitalise on the scoreboard.
Natimuk United managed one goal in the final term as the Southern Roos joined its senior side in a grand final.
The win ends a finals losing streak that dates back to the 2015 reserves grand final against Kalkee for Harrow-Balmoral.
The side has been undefeated in the past two seasons, but has exited the competition in straight sets in both 2016 and 2017. The Southern Roos will meet the Storm in the decider.
