For the reserves, Southern Mallee Giants player Michael Saunders led the way with 36 majors.
Kemp said a forward can only be as good as the midfield who is supplying the ball.
“It is a personal best in seniors for me – my teammates helped a lot by getting the ball down there so well,” he said.
Kemp said the team rallied around each other this season after losing about a third of its senior side at the end of last season.
“We did get written off a bit but obviously we were still confident in the seniors and reserves that we had,” he said. “We just kept sticking at it.”
Kemp said he was expecting a lot of heat from the Giants in Saturday’s decider.
“I reckon we can grind it away with a four-quarter effort and came away with the win,” he said.
