Lawyers for liquidators pursuing millions of dollars don't know Mr Sokolov's exact location, with reports he is in his native Bulgaria.
His summons for the Federal Court appearance on October 22 will be sent to his Queensland address in the hope it reaches him overseas.
It is understood Mr Sokolov is being pursued after receiving around $8 million of Queensland Nickel's money as a gift from Mr Palmer.
The court on Wednesday heard liquidators have made three attempts to contact him and did not know when he would return to Australia.
