Club president Mick Morris said the club has some “unfinished business” to resolve next season.
“At our club presentation night on the weekend, we saw how many players went through the club right from juniors up to seniors,” Mr Morris said.
“It was astonishing the amount of ins and outs we had. We didn’t have a settled side. Things could have been different if we had our Rebels players at certain times, but we won’t lament too much on that.
“Luke feels as if he has some unfinished business next year.”
Mr Morris said Fisher has brought a lot of professionalism and on-field leadership to the role.
“He polled well in the Toohey Medal and is obviously being noticed by the umpires,” Mr Morris said.
“He is an on-field leader and as a club we couldn’t be prouder of him. He is getting all the boys behind him and they speak very well of him. He is a part of the family.”

The club is now looking at locking down some high-profile recruits and coaching staff.
“We are having meetings now to try and get a good bunch of leaders to try and propel ourselves deep into finals next year,” Mr Morris said.
Fisher said he had enjoyed his first two seasons as coach of the Saints.
“It’s been fantastic. We have done pretty well both years but off the field we keep developing and growing as a club,” he said.
“We will try and top up and recruit a little bit and fill some holes we might not have been able to do this year. We want to develop the guys we have because we do have some great players.”
Fisher said the young list was exciting moving into next season.
“The core group is so young and most of them are under 25. They are playing well and that’s exciting,” he said.
