Five teams were in the grade last season, but with Blackheath-Dimboola dropping out of A Grade, Quantong coming up to B Grade and the West Wimmera Warriors joining the association, it is an increased league this season.
Lubeck-Murtoa won both the one-day and two-day grand finals last season and will be looking to get their season off to a good start against the Horsham Saints.
The game is a re-match of last year’s two-day grand final. The Saints could look different in the B Grade, with some players going up to A Grade.
The West Wimmera Warriors B Grade side will get their first taste of Horsham Cricket Association action against Colts at Jeparit.
The West Wimmera side features players from the now defunct West Wimmera Cricket Association.
Blackheath-Dimboola will start their season against the Bullants, who struggled last season.
Jung Tigers, who finished bottom on both ladders last season, will be looking for a more positive season with their first game against Quantong.
The C Grade doesn’t kick off its season until October 20. Seven teams will be in C Grade, down from 10 last year. The league will feature Rup-Minyip, Homers, Blackheath-Dimboola, Jung Tigers, Colts, Horsham Saints and Laharum.
