The exhibition, which Horsham College teachers Luke McCallum and Tina Fitzgerald have co-ordinated, features the top art and design projects from students across Wimmera schools, including ones in Horsham, Ararat and Murtoa.
Mr McCallum said VCE product design and technology, studio arts, visual communication design, and systems engineering students submitted works for the show, which will open on Friday, October 19. He said the students had worked on their projects throughout the year.
“With the wood and metal projects we’ve had things like outdoor tables, bike trailers, TV cabinets and bunk beds,” he said.
“We’ve had two dresses in textiles, and a tennis ball launcher and coin sorter from the systems students.
“The visual communication students have designed packaging for businesses, created scaled models of buildings, and developed advertising for various things.
“The studio art submissions include a massive range of things such as ceramics, sculptures, paintings, drawings, photos and also short films.”
Mr McCallum said Cream of the Crop would open in the restaurant area of Wimmera Trade Training Centre at 6pm on Friday and run until 7.30pm.
The exhibition will run for two weeks from opening night, during school hours.
Mr McCallum said people needed to sign in at the Horsham College administration building to view the works.
