McIntyre said she’s excited to represent the Wimmera and help promote athletes from the area.
“I’m grateful to be a part of the board and to be able to provide a gateway to the Wimmera for athletes,” McIntyre said.
“Having somebody who is locally based means that we get more ability to be able to promote and to get our local Wimmera athletes involved in the program.
“Helping bridge the gap between city and country is one of my biggest passions, so I’m always happy to do anything I can do to help try and make it easier for country athletes to be a part of elite pathways.”
McIntyre has long been an active member of the sports community, with her role as a project coordinator at Wimmera Regional Sports, a player at the Horsham Lady Hornets and A Grade netball coach at Laharum.
The WestVic Academy of Sport provides pathways to success for talented athletes in Western Victoria with a focus on individual sports.
