The final gathering was at Wangaratta.
Commissioner Graham Ashton walked from Mallacoota Police Station to Wangaratta and Police Association secretary Sergeant Wayne Gatt walked from Mildura to Wangaratta.
Member of Honour Noela Macleod AO kindly donated a beautiful quilt to the walk, which Commissioner Ashton purchased, donating the proceeds to the walk. The quilt will be hung at the new police headquarters in Spencer Street, Melbourne. Over $600,000 was raised from this inspirational walk.
Her Excellency, the Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria, will open the April ACWW World Conference and with junior members participating, it will be an exciting time.
Message from Central Wimmera group president, Jenni: AGM and group conference will be held at the Anglican Hall, Warracknabeal, on February, 28, hosted by Willenabrina.
State treasurer Janette O'Keefe will be in attendance as conference rounds get underway. A craft day is planned in early April to make Australian themed items for April’s ACWW Conference.
West Wimmera Group president Sadie wishes everyone to be advised of the necessary alteration to our conference date, as mentioned last column, now February 27, CWA Hall, Horsham, with the Horsham Branch hosting. Please support the competition, your interpretation of "Faces".
Next Bunning’s barbecue for the Horsham branch is January 13.
Willenabrina branch enjoyed a smorgasbord lunch, before exchanging gifts and social time at its breakup, a charity bowl raised funds for the Foodbank.
A sample of slice and its recipe was shared. This will be the February competition, as all copies of recipes were taken, hopefully, there will be plenty of entries.
