Among the group were the Demirkale family, who were originally from Turkey.
Mehmet and Yuskel Demirkale moved to Australia eight years ago with their three children Mirza, Abdulaziz and Berkay.
Mr Demirkale said they moved to Australia for work.
They became permanent residents and he was “happy” that his family were now Australian citizens.
After living in Australia for 50 years, Kerry Hill also made the decision to become a citizen.
Mrs Hill moved from England when she was six-years-old.
"I have always considered myself an Australian citizen and it never occurred to me to become a citizen,” she said.
“It was only when I realised I needed a passport to travel that I decided I should officially become a citizen. I just never thought about it before.”
