Country Fire Authority District 17 operations manager Craig Brittain said a caravan was being towed on the Henty Highway at Haven when the fire started at 4.51pm.
“The cause of the fire was unknown, but it appeared that the tire blew and as a result caused a spark and as a result started the fire,” he said.
Mr Brittain said two crews responded to the incident. The fire was quickly brought under control.
He said he was unsure of the extent of damage caused to the caravan.
