The Horsham Angling Club’s twilight fishing competition wrapped up on Wednesday with some of the best fish of the competition caught and weighed in.

25 seniors and 25 juniors braved the hot weather on Wednesday to wet a line and they were rewarded for their efforts. Some very nice sized yellowbelly were caught mainly on small yabbies between the Wimmera Bridge and Riverside.
Ron Hanna was this week’s winner with a yellowbelly weighing in at 1.633 kilograms.
Scarlett Abbott won the junior competition with a whopping yellowbelly weighing 1.456 kilograms, the second heaviest catch of the night.
In other senior places, yellowbelly were caught by Frank Coyle weighing 0.917 kilograms, Micheael Stasinowsky finished third with 0.813 kilograms and Larelle Souter came in fourth with a fish weighing 0.798 kilograms.
In the juniors, Koby Lang finished second with a 0.792 kilogram yellowbelly while Saxon Vanstan came in third.
The next Horsham Angling Club event is at Lake Charliegrak on the 2nd and 3rd of February, as long as blue green algae stays away.
