McDonald was named in the 12 person Victorian Fury squad to compete in the Australian Netball League this season.
McDonald said after last years terrific experience, she was excited to continue developing her netball with the Fury.
Obviously Im very excited, its always an honour to be able to represent Victoria, she said.
We have a fresh new coaching staff who are really experienced and amazing I think its going to be a really special year.
As a second-year player, McDonald said she was looking forward to helping the younger players on the team.
Theyve picked a couple of girls from the age group below me, McDonald said. Hopefully I can help out the girls in their first year that were similar to me last year.
We had our first solid session last week and it was funny how much my experience from last year has changed. I felt so much more confident and comfortable on the court.
Hopefully I can help out the girls that are similar age to me and in their first year to help them get used to it.
McDonald said playing with the Fury last season and getting to compete at the highest level of netball was an eye-opening experience.
Its a pretty big jump up from VNL and even the state teams, I did find it was a massive jump between the two, McDonald said.
But I think last year as challenging and as uncomfortable as it could be, it was the most rewarding year and I learnt so much out of it.
I think on and off the court I changed a lot and got a lot mentally stronger just from being in uncomfortable environments and being challenged in different ways.
The step-up has been the best thing that has happened for me and my netball.
