The science of sleep has been a burgeoning field in recent years, with countless studies pointing to the significance of a solid night’s rest for better brain function and long-term wellbeing.
But how do we fare when it comes to getting proper rest regularly? King Living hopes to transform the way we think about sleep with the release of its revolutionary new mattress, Sleep+.
The furniture company conducted a survey of more than 3000 Australians, and gaining key insights into the way we spend our nights.
They uncovered the unsurprising statistic that 50 per cent of respondents believe they need an extra hour or two of sleep, with 10.41 per cent of Australians living on only four to five hours per night. While 93.43 per cent of participants reported their sleep to be interrupted throughout the night, a small (but lucky) 6.57 per cent sleep straight through.
Respondents also admitted to loving their tech when they probably should be trying to sleep. A whopping 74 per cent still choose to sleep with their phone by their bedside, and 30 per cent described their sleep as interrupted as they check their mobile devices. Meanwhile, 50 per cent watch television and videos in bed before they finally drift off to sleep.
Not surprisingly, the quality of our mattress plays a major role in how we sleep and more than half of all surveyed were dissatisfied with their quality of sleep, based on their current mattress.
When it comes to improving your sleep, creating a healthy sleeping environment is paramount, and according to King Living, Sleep+ is the first mattress that has been designed to transform the way we sleep.
Sleep+ harnesses the modular technology pioneered by King Living during its 40-year history, resulting in a bespoke mattress.
With a unique layering system (see above), Sleep+ allows people to tailor a mattress to suit their personal requirements, providing optimum comfort and airflow.
It’s also easily adaptable to the change of seasons and simple to keep clean.
The luxury mattress is not only delving into new technology, but it’s also a natural extension of King Living’s commitment to design innovation, complementing its range of premium lifestyle products.
