The two-day event near Minimay starts Saturday, with a line-up also featuring the Wolfe Brothers, The Brothers 3 and Caitlyn Shadblot.
Chairperson John Naylor said event goers also had fireworks to look forward to for the first time. “That will be something spectacular over the lake, and we have a few other attractions and sideshows in the arena,” he said.
“Over the last four or five years, attendance numbers have definitely increased. Lee Kernaghan last year gave us a real kick.”
Mr Naylor said some people are coming from as far as Ceduna in South Australia and Mildura. “I think it’s word of mouth that brings them in,” he said.
With this March marking the final Horsham Country Music Festival, he said he expected the marathon to play an even bigger role on the Wimmera’s events calendar in coming years.
