St Michael’s, Horsham Lawn, Kalkee and Drung South have all secured their positions inside the top four with Haven just missing out after a tough loss against Horsham Lawn.
Horsham Lawn ran away winnners 12-101 to 2-70 to dash Haven’s hopes of catching Drung South in fourth place.
Horsham Lawn’s captain Shane Gillespie applauded the team’s performance ahead of the last round of the season.
“It was a really good team effort on Saturday,” Gillespie said.
“Everyone is going along really well with only one week to go before finals.
“We’ve got to continue playing well. It’s always good to play in the finals but we’ll take it one week at a time so we’re not thinking too far ahead.”
Drung South easily accounted for Telangatuk East to put themselves out of Haven’s reach, one game and a healthy percentage clear in fourth place.
Drung South and Kalkee will be playing for a home final next week when they play Horsham Lawn and Haven respectively. Drung South will need Kalkee to lose to have a chance.
St Michael’s have also secured the minor premiership and had a seven set victory against Kalkee.
Captain Chris Ellis said it was rewarding to guarantee themselves the top spot.
“We’ve had a good season and consistent team all year which has really helped,” Ellis said.
“We’ve been good enough to lose just the one game which is pretty good.
“Finishing on top gives us a home final and a really good launching point for the finals.”

The side’s 10-100 to 4-59 victory was closer than it seemed, with Kalkee forfeiting three sets due to missing a fourth women’s player.
Ellis said the two teams were closer on paper and when it came to finals he would expect a more tightly contested match.
“That certainly made it a bit easier for us,” he said. “It would have been a lot closer if we played every set.
“We’re looking forward to finals starting – with four weeks since the Christmas break it’s been enough to get our form back and start playing some good tennis.”
