A GWMWater spokesman said the organisation was arranging for an alternate water supply to the town.
“We are seeking your co-operation and ask that you minimise water use outside the home where possible, particularly during extremely hot periods,” the organisation said in a statement on its Facebook page.
“No interruption to supply is anticipated.”
The organisation said the water in Harrow remained safe to use for bathing and washing clothes, but should not be used for drinking or food preparation.
“(We apologise) for any inconvenience that the current situation may cause and wishes to assure customers that we are working as quickly as possible to resolve the problem.”
The Mail-Times has contacted GWMWater for comment.
