The organisations were nominated for the Development Initiative of the Year award for their Women in Sport Good Governance Program which started last year.
The program is designed to equip women the necessary skills to take on governance positions within sporting clubs and businesses.
Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly’s project co-ordinator Rebecca McIntyre said it was a special night to be a part of.
"It was quite amazing to be there with so many illustrious sports people," she said.
"We didn't win but was a privilege to be nominated.
"We were happy to be representing the Wimmera and to be recognised as being at the forefront of change for women in sport."
