The association's rules state if the forecast for match day is 38 degrees or higher at 6pm the day before, play must be called off.
"At this stage we are pretty sure we will be calling it off on Saturday," Central Wimmera Tennis Association president Kate-Lyn Perkin said.
"It is currently forecast for about 40 degrees, and you just can't play in that - as soon as it gets above 38 our insurance doesn't cover any injuries or anything like that."
The association has instead adopted a flexible schedule, with teams free to play their match-ups at a mutually agreed upon time across the next week.
Labour Day weekend the following week has been scheduled as a bye after teams voted for the weekend off prior to the season.
The association initially considered delaying this weekend's fixture to the long weekend if weather stopped play going ahead. But Perkin said many competitors had already made plans to go away on the long weekend, which could cause forfeits and lopsided contests in the first round of finals.
Instead, the association has opted for flexibility. Teams are free to use the long weekend to play their matches if it suits both teams, as long as all contests are completed before 8pm on the Sunday.
"We have to be flexible," Perkin said. "It's the best way to give teams a chance to get their best teams on the court for finals and make sure everyone is happy."
Pennant division's top-of-the-table clash between St Michael's and Horsham Lawn is likely to be played on Sunday.
Drung South and Kalkee are set to play their third against fourth pennant contest on Friday night.
Because Friday is also forecast above 38 degrees, league rules state play cannot start until 7.30pm.
