Caris has been named on Geelong's interchange to take on Brisbane at Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Caris said the news of her selection was a surprise.
"I couldn't believe it at first but now I have had some time to settle I am so excited," she said.
"I was just doing my recovery after training when the coach told me to come see him afterwards.
"I walked into a meeting room with three people, one being Aasta O’Connor who was one of my academy coaches. She got to deliver me the news which was really special."
Caris said she is nervous about the opportunity but is excited to get the chance to play on the big stage.
"I feel like pre-season has been going for a long time so I am really looking forward to getting out there," she said.
"I think mum and dad will come up which is exciting."
Caris was taken by Geelong at pick 35 in the 2018 AFLW draft.
The 19-year-old said the transition into her new lifestyle has been smooth.
"The club has been really good and the transition has been really easy," she said.
"It was also handy coming through with two other Rebels girls which made settling in a bit easier."
Brisbane and Geelong will face off from 4.45pm AEDT.
