A MAN involved in a siege at Minyip at the weekend will face court on Monday.
Horsham Sergeant Dale McIvor said a man in his 40s was arrested and later charged with making threats to kill after the incident on Saturday.
"A Critical Incident Response Team from Melbourne came down as the incident required a negotiator," he said.
"A man in his 40s surrendered peacefully to police. He has been remanded in custody to appear in court in Horsham on Monday."
6pm Saturday: A 43-year-old man is in custody after an incident in Minyip finished about 4.30pm on Saturday.
Acting Sergeant Peter Rose said the man was yet to be interviewed in relation to threats he made while refusing to leave a house for seven hours.
The details of the threats made have yet to be revealed.
The man was taken to Horsham Police Station, and Acting Sergeant Rose said police were yet to decide whether to apply to have him remanded in custody overnight.
2pm Saturday: A Minyip street is sealed off as police negotiate with a man who is refusing to leave a home.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman released this statement on Saturday afternoon.
"Police have cordoned off the area as they attempt to negotiate with the man. It’s believed he is alone in the address. The incident began about 9.50am."
Country Fire Authority District 17 Operations Officer Alfred Mason said the authority had sent one vehicle to help with the operation.
