It was announced last week Mr Joyce would open the event.
A petition was started on Friday by Horsham resident Daniel Watson. It has so far received 35 signatures.
Mr Watson said he was a former Nationals voter and volunteered for the party at polling booths.
"Barnaby Joyce and Andrew Broad have disrespected the Nationals as a whole," Mr Watson said.
"We all know a lot of Wimmera farmers and they all love the Nationals and they will always get behind the member, and a lot of them have been very disheartened.
"With the way Joyce has disrespected the country and farmers, it feels very disrespectful to the Wimmera.
"If the only man we can get to open our showcase of the Wimmera is a disrespected Nationals member from Northern NSW, we might as well get Andrew Broad because at least he's our local member."
The petition has been addressed to Field Days manager Murray Wilson, as well as the Nationals members for Mallee and Lowan Andrew Broad and Emma Kealy.
Mr Wilson told the Mail-Times he had not been made aware of the petition.
"When it comes to key MPs and those with a long history and deep knowledge of agriculture, we look at it as the opportunity to be a key feature of field days," he said.
"We have no political allegiance, our focus is on attracting someone patrons can come and listen to. Someone with a personal issue has nothing to do with us, we are working for the agricultural community."
Both Mr Broad and Mr Joyce were embroiled in scandals in 2018, which have affected their careers.
While Mr Joyce will recontest his seat of New England at this year's Federal Election, Mr Broad will not.
