Regular intersection user James Murphy told the Mail-Times earlier this week he was concerned about the surface structure of the intersection and the difficulty of merging from O'Callaghan's Parade.
Representatives from RRV met with Mr Murphy on Friday regarding his concern.
Mr Murphy said he was happy to have spoken to the organisation face to face, and agreed better driver education was the key.
Regional Roads Victoria western region acting operations manager Angela Carey said it was quicker to turn right onto McPherson Street from Wilson Street or Roberts Avenue than travelling along O'Callaghan's Parade.
“We’re always happy to meet with members of the community to discuss their concerns or ideas, particularly when it comes to road safety," she said.
“We acknowledge that this new layout is quite different to the previous intersection, and it will take time for drivers to adjust to the altered traffic flow."
