CHILDREN across the Wimmera are invited to a very special egg hunt for the Easter long weekend.
The 13th annual Bendigo Bank Horsham Easter egg hunt will be held at Maydale Reserve on Thursday.
Bank employee Ann-Maree Miller said the traditional had helped raise more than $40,000 for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal since it started.
"We want to raise as much money for them as we can. The event started because we wanted to contribute to the appeal," she said.
"We raise between $3000 and $3500 each year, and have more than 300 kids participate."
For the first time the annual hunt will be held on the Thursday evening before Good Friday.
A barbecue dinner will be available for people to enjoy from 5.30pm, along with a jumping castle, face painting and games.
The Easter Bunny and Piggy the Bendigo Bank mascot will be there to meet children.
The Bendigo Bank Easter egg hunt will be held at Maydale Reserve from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The hunt will start about 6.30pm. Entry is a $2 per child.
