The 13-year-old took the trip down to Whitten Oval, in Melbourne, with 10 of his under 14's teammates from the Minyip-Murtoa Football Netball Club.
French said it was a great day spent with his favourite player.
"It was pretty exciting, he was really cool," he said. "He taught me a few new things and I got him to sign my jumpers."
"Some of my teammates hadn't seen an AFL star or been to an actual AFL footy game, only watched it on TV, so it was pretty good".
Jack's father, James, drove the boys down to Melbourne in a bus.
"It was definitely pretty special sharing it with my son, so we'll be getting that photo up on the wall no doubt," he said.
"It was a bit of fun for the big kids as well. For me being a lifelong Bulldogs supporter I was very quick to get him to sign my 2016 premiership jumper."
James French joked that the session might help Bontempelli continue his roaring start to the season.
"We are able to show him something as well," he said.
"The Bont will get three Brownlow votes after being with us for an hour"
