Nhill Sergeant Matt Currow said police caught a high number of drivers speeding, driving unsafely or driving while fatigued.
"We understand that people are in a hurry, but what we saw was very disappointing," he said.
Police nabbed an Indian national in his 20s speeding 152km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Western Highway near Kaniva on Saturday night.
A 32-year-old Reservoir man was caught driving 115km/h in a 60km/h roadworks zone on Friday night near Gerang Gerung.
"That is a 24-hour roadworks site due to the very poor current condition of the roads, which are down to dirt level," Sergeant Currow said.
It comes after a string of accidents and collisions on the Western Highway on Good Friday, including a fatality at Armstrong.
"It's been a brutal weekend around the region. It was disgusting that there were so many accidents," he said.
"People were tired, not concentrating, speeding or driving erratically. It's not worth driving 10km/h over the speed just to get to your destination a little bit quicker."
Kaniva Police Sergeant Darren Wright said fatigue was a major problem for drivers over the long-weekend.
"We implore the community to be patient on their way home from holidays on Monday," he said.
