Sing Australians from Edenhope, Nhill and Horsham combined recently - Sing Australia Day - to bring an afternoon of song and companionship to residents of Horsham.

The mayor welcomed visitors, then read the Acknowledgement of Country, and a message from the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and chief Patron of Sing Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove.
This was followed by a varied program, including traditional songs, songs from theatre and film musicals, and others made famous by The Beatles, Secret Garden, Slim Dusty, Neil Diamond, Queen, Tina Arena, Willie Nelson, The Seekers and other popular performers.
The singing was very ably led by conductor Jenny Payne and accompanied by Ross Bullock. This event was one of 30 similar events around Australia when 2000 members of Sing Australia met at 1pm o'clock at regional centres to celebrate the founding of Sing Australia.
This network now has more than 5000 members and welcomes anyone who loves to sing.
Sing Australia gatherings are held annually but this was the first time the event was held simultaneously across Australia and was open to anyone who wished to enjoy the Sing Australia style of singing.
