The 17-year-old found himself at a tight angle in the forward pocket, and duly finished the job to open his 2019 season with a goal.
It was a statement made by the young star, who is trying to establish himself in the senior side.
"I guess when I first started the goal was to play seniors. I kinda just went to Horsham for somewhere to play and stuck around," Wynne said.
"I've been playing there for a couple of years now and played all my junior footy there.
"So yeah, it definitely felt good when I first made the senior side."
Wynne played seven games for the seniors last season after being promoted from the under-17s side.
He quickly settled at a higher level and kicked five goals in the Wimmera league.
"I was pretty proud I guess. I'd been training a fair bit with the seniors, so I was already kind of around it and knew what to expect," he said.
"It was good to play a bit of a faster brand of footy, compared to the juniors.
"Some of the biggest differences were the speed and the bigger bodies.
"But after being called up, I really enjoyed it, and I guess I've just stuck around."

Wynne wasn't selected in last season's premiership side and said missing out inspired him heading into this season.
"I hadn't played for a few weeks before last season's grand final. But, watching it made me want to fight and try and be involved in the next one," he said.
"It might be tough, we've got a good ressies side, so there's quite a few looking to come up into the seniors.
"But, I hope to stay in the seniors this year. I've been training every week and just want to play the best footy I can."
Wynne looks a chance to feature prominently this season.
Like many, Wynne preferred to talk about the collective instead of his personal success.
"Horsham is one of the leading teams so it's good to be involved," he said. "It's a great club and I'm still really enjoying it."
As for the future, the young gun wasn't looking too far ahead.
"I think we'll be pretty strong this year. It will be good to see how we go against the stronger teams," he said. "Personally, I don't know what my goals are this year; just get a kick I guess."
