Horsham residents will have the chance to hear from the people they will choose as their next politician on Thursday May 9.

Horsham Rural City Council and Victorian Farmers Federation is hosting a free "Meet The Candidates Forum" next Thursday at Horsham Town Hall's heritage hall.
The event will be held between 6pm and 8pm, ahead of the Federal Election, on Saturday May 18.
The Science Party's Leigh Firman, Fraser Anning's Conservative National Party candidate Rick Grosvenor, Independent Ray Kingston, the Citizens' Electoral Council's Chris Lahy, independents Cecilia Moar and Jason Modica, United Australia Party's Rick Millar, Liberal candidate Serge Petrovich and the National Party's Anne Webster have so far confirmed they will be attending.
Labor's Carole Hart, Fraser Anning's Conservative National Party candidate Rick Grosvenor, the Greens' Nicole Rowan and Shooters Fishers and Farmers' Dan Straub also said they hoped to attend.
Rise Up Australia Party's Phillip Mollison said he would not be there.
A Council spokesman said the event was open to all community members, and there was no need to register ahead of attending.
Wimmera Mail-Times editor Jessica Grimble will then ask each of the candidates a series of set questions before audience members will have the chance to do the same.
Thursday's forum will follow a similar event in Nhill on April 15.
Candidates have also been invited to Yarriambiack Shire Council's next public forum in Warracknabeal on on Wednesday.
On Friday, the day after the Horsham forum, the candidates will head to St. Arnaud for another forum between 9am and 11am.
Northern Grampians Shire Mayor Kevin Irwin said he expected roads, water security, community services, infrastructure, connectivity, mental health, energy, jobs, housing and taxation to be discussed.
