The Baggies burst out of the gates at North Park and capitalised on a sluggish Kalkee to quickly gain ascendancy.
Swifts' midfielders Ryan Folkes and playing-coach Scott Carey were the main men as they took a 26 point lead into quarter time.
Playing in his 100th game, Folkes was able to snag two first half goals to help ease his nerves.
"I didn't know really what to expect, and I would say nerves definitely got the better of me until we ran out onto the ground," Folkes said.
"I was tagged in the third quarter so was lucky to get those goals early.
"As a whole we came out firing and our pressure was really there. We played our four quarters of good footy and it showed.
"There's nothing like winning to add to the celebration of any of the players milestone games."
The match was a relatively even contest from there, but the first quarter lapse proved too difficult to overcome for the Kees.
With a slight breeze in the second quarter, Kalkee reduced the deficit to 25 at half time and upped the pressure in the second half. The third term was an arm-wrestle, with both sides only able to boot one goal each.
Swifts' coach Scott Carey said the pressure of both sides was immense.
"We couldn't utilise the football when kicking inside 50 as we would of liked in the third, but the intensity and effort to turn over the football at half back was outstanding," Carey said.
"We were able to still score enough in the quarter to set ourselves up for the last."
Kalkee coach Stuart Farr said despite playing a good three quarters of football, the damage was already done.
"Swifts were just harder at the footy and brought more intensity. They played for each other and shepherded - all the little things we didn't do," he said. "We thought we did it better in the second half but by then we're playing catch up."
Despite the loss, Farr said there were some positives to take out of the game.
"I thought our young blokes played well," he said.
"Nick Jasper was really good off half back and Luke Burn was good in the ruck, despite giving away a few inches.
"We showed glimpses in 5 or 10 minute patches, so the good footy is in us - it's now the consistency we are searching for."
The 38 point deficit in Stawell was the smallest margin of the round in a one-sided weekend in the Horsham District league.
Kalkee will go up against Jeparit-Rainbow in a fortnight, a side who have now won three in a row after they defeated Taylors Lake by 49 points.
Edenhope-Apsley are back on the winners list after a commanding 42 point win at home against Rupanyup.
And after a close opening term, Natimuk United defeated Pimpinio by 160 points while Harrow-Balmoral were too good for a depleted Laharum, also winning by triple figures.
