Peter Jenkin contacted the Mail-Times after disruptions to his reception resulted in poorer image quality and frequent pixelations.
He attributed disruptions to the recent Optus tower commissioned in the west side of the city.
David McDonald of Jim's Antennas said he contacted the Australian Communications and Media Authority after residents had expressed their concern to him.
He said residents needed to ensure they had switched from analogue to digital.
He said Optus was not liable due to the old analogue frequencies used for 4G.
"Television amplifiers need to be upgraded to digital in order to get the proper TV reception," he said.
Optus was contacted for comment.
