FOREST Fire Management Victoria will conduct a fuel reduction burn in the Little Desert National Park, starting today.

Wimmera district manager, Glenn Rudolph, said the burn, in a western block of the park, is due to begin at noon on Friday, May 17 and conclude at 6pm.
"The burn objective is to develop fuel reduced areas of sufficient width and continuity to reduce the speed and intensity of bushfires," Mr Rudolph said.
The Department of Health and Human Services said people affected by smoke exposure from the burn should seek medical advice of phone the Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. They can close windows and doors to prevent smoke from entering.
Road travel might be be hazardous due to low visibility associated with smoke. Signs may be in place to slow traffic; check www.traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au for travel times and road works.
