The stalwart has played more than 200 games for the club, was once captain and coached the junior sides.
Now, he serves as the groundskeeper and maintains Davis Park as one of the best ovals in the league.
It's a job that Pollock takes in his stride, as he finds himself at the club more often than not.
"I'm down there to mow it twice a week," he said.
"I mow it Monday and Friday; then I'm down there Tuesday and Thursday for training.
"So I've only got about one day free really, which I don't think the wife is too happy about."
Pollock took on the role as a way to honour the loss of the previous groundskeeper.
"We used to send messages and photos to each other about this site on the internet called lawn porn. He was pretty proud of his footy oval, and he knew I had a good lawn at home, so we shared that.
"When he passed away, I thought doing the oval could be a good way to honour him, I guess."
Pollock said he is just one of many volunteers and supporters who make Nhill the tight-knit club it is.
"It's the only club I've ever been involved in, and I don't think there's anything like it. You go to other places, and it's not the same environment," he said.
"Everyone you walk past says hello, it's just such a good community."
Pollock praised the work of others at the club.
"I get help from Jim White and 'Doc'. If I can't make it I just flick them a message and they're always great. Dooka Muller is one too who is always helping out around the club," he said.
"There's definitely a lot of people that do a lot of work there that goes unnoticed, and I think that's something you need. It's what's the club is about."
