Regional Arts Victoria has delivered the shed's management committee $14,840 from the Regional Arts Fund to stage an artist's residency with Dave Jones, Anthony Schellens and Jillian Pearce.
The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal is contributing a further $9,918 to the project.
Stick shed committee chair Judith Welsh said Dave Jones, Anthony Schellens and Jillian Pearce would develop a light and sound show that would be free to attend as part of Murtoa's big weekend event in October.
"This is part of the next step in the shed's journey where we're looking at using it as an events venue, because there is nothing else like it around," she said.
"We want to show it in a new light. We also have the wedding expo here in July."
The Regional Arts Fund is a federal government program delivered by Regional Arts Victoria. RAV's director of partnerships Liz Zito said funding rounds were always competitive.
"For them to be funded is pretty exciting," she said.
"Last month we went to Kaniva and Warracknabeal to give artists in those communities more information on the Regional Arts Fund, and we have had some queries about the program since then."
Ms Zito said applications for the second round of the Regional Arts Fund in 2019 open on July 1 and last until mid August. She said those interested in applying could call 9644 1800.
