The unbeaten Burras held a slender two-goal lead at the end of the first term, but drew away from a Rats' side lacking its senior players to secure a comfortable 23-goal win.
Ararat coach Taylor Mason said lapses in concentration were to blame for her side's second loss of the season.
"Just like last week, we started off really strong and then a second quarter lapse pretty much decides the game," she said.
"I said it last week about keeping a level head. We couldn't do it again this week and that's what has caused this result I think."
A full-strength Minyip-Murtoa side was always going to be a tough ask for a travelling Ararat without the services of 500-game goalie Megan Shea and Kyrstal Fisher.
The introduction of Sheridan Petering into the middle of the court boosted the Burras, with the recruit forming a potent partnership with coach Billie Bibby.
The pair controlled the game and set up plenty of attacking opportunities for Kirby Knight, who collected 51 goals.
Mason was hopeful the Rats could bounce back.
"We'll be excited to have Megan Shea and Krystal Fisher back next week," she said. "It's been a shame that we have had these players absent against the two strongest teams of the season, but I definitely think at full ability we can match both the teams that just rolled us."
Ararat suffered its first loss of the season last weekend against Horsham, 77-43.
Elsewhere, with cries of "we've done it" around the netball courts, Stawell Warriors celebrated their first win of the 2019 season. The Warriors managed to put Nhill away with a 36-goal margin, 62-26.
Talking straight after the game, the A Grade coaches, Toni Stewart and Tracey Dark couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces.
"We did it," Dark said. "We're really proud of how the girls went."
Despite the scoreline, Dark said it wasn't an easy game and the team worked hard for every goal.
Horsham, meanwhile, continued its stellar run of form, defeating the Warrack Eagles 52-35.
The return of Mel Scott from injury saw Georgia Hiscock move into the centre of the court, where she put in an inspired performance on her way to being named the Demons' best.
The Horsham Saints secured a tight four-goal victory against Dimboola to complete the round.
Larnie Hobbs was named the Saints' best.
