The man, 66, appeared before a Wimmera court last week to face an obscene exposure charge and an indecent act charge.
Defence lawyer Simon Torpy called to adjourn the case to a later date. The accused had entered a plea of not guilty at a previous court date.
The matter was first heard at court in September 2017. The court heard there were two incidents relating to the charges.
In the first incident, the man allegedly exposed his penis to 15-year-old girl while she was in his home.
In the second incident, he allegedly watched a pornographic movie in the presence of the same girl.
The court heard the victim was a friend of the man's daughter.
Both girls provided police with witness statements.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Matt Haughton said the statements corroborated each other.
Magistrate Peter Dunn questioned what defined a pornographic film.
"If it was a general release film, would it still be a charge?" Mr Dunn asked Sergeant Haughton.
"You can take a child to the movies and watch something fairly violent or a graphic horror movie, or a film that contains sex scenes - is that an indecent act?"
Sergeant Haughton said evidence suggested the film contained bondage and sex slave elements.
Mr Dunn asked Sergeant Haughton how he could prove the film was of a pornographic nature.
"Through the description of the content," Sergeant Haughton replied.
Mr Torpy said the content of the film was contested, as was who exhibited the film.
"My client strongly denies the allegations against him," he said.
Mr Torpy said there was also discrepancy in the accounts of both witnesses regarding what the man exposed.
"He is adamant there was no exposure," he said.
The court heard if the man was found guilty, he could go on the sex offenders registry for up to 15 years.
The man will reappear on October 7 for the start of a three-day contest hearing.
His bail was extended until that date.
