Eight teams - accompanied by riders and support crews - will compete with 20 human-powered vehicles at the Dimboola Recreation Reserve.
The teams will participate in a six-hour demonstration race from 10am.
Hindmarsh Shire Council's tourism and economic development officer Jeff Woodward said the event would allow people to experience the emerging sport without the hassle of travelling to - Maryborough, Melbourne or South Australia.
Mr Woodward said the teams would complete a 1.2-kilometre circuit, reaching speeds of up to 60km/h.
"Last year the teams were supported by around 800 spectators, and we are expecting similar numbers this year," he said.
Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor Ron Ismay said Dimboola was fortunate to secure the only event of this type in western Victoria.
"This event has the potential to grow the sport and inspire more local schools and communities to become involved," he said.
"The Dimboola Recreation Reserve is a perfect location for HPV events and we hope in future to develop this venue to be able to host official race events."
