Organiser and librarian Jenny Blakeley said the two-day event would celebrate 130 years of the Longerenong College community.
She said there was once a primary school attached to the college and many families lived on campus.
"It was a self-sufficient little community," she said.
"So as part of the celebrations, we are depicting life over the past 130 years."

The celebrations will include open days on Saturday and Sunday, where there will be farm and campus tours and memorabilia on display.
The highlight of the weekend will be a gala dinner on Saturday night.
Mrs Blakeley said about 350 people would attend the celebrations, with some travelling internationally.
"We have a staff member from New Guinea and a student from New Zealand," she said. "We have people coming from everywhere else in Australia."
Mrs Blakeley said the college had received a great response from former students and teachers. "We will have current students there along with former students and staff who are now in their 90s," she said.
"The recurring theme in every email or conversation I have is that the time spent at Longy was the best time of their lives."
The gala dinner will include former students as guest speakers, who will share their journey since leaving the college.
"The whole weekend is about reconnecting with former classmates and reminiscing."
Mrs Blakeley said a lot of memorabilia had been donated to the college, which would be showcased at the event.
"We've had lots of clothing donated - jumpers and basketball tops," she said.
"People have donated photos - we had a lot of photos in old college magazines, but people have donated the originals.
"Some people have donated badges as well - some really precious items have been parted with and we are very fortunate."
Mrs Blakeley said there should be photos of everyone who attended Longerenong College, along with photos of children from the primary school.
