The state government's Minerals Development Victoria department has confirmed it approved WIM Resources' application for a minerals exploration licence on September 23.
Minerals Development Victoria will stage information sessions on the new development in Wonwondah, Laharum and Brimpaen on November 11, 12 and 13 respectively.
In a statement, the department said people wanting more information on these sessions could contact community engagement officer Lyall Grey on 0436 662 399.
In August, project manager Michael Winternitz told the Mail-Times the company could conduct more drilling and install groundwater bores if awarded an exploration licence.
The government ran an open tender for minerals exploration in 2018 across eleven blocks of land in western Victoria, which collectively as the Stavely Arc.
Tenderers earned the right to apply to the regulator for a minerals exploration licence in six of the eleven blocks.
WIM Resource is the second company to be granted a licence, after P.S. and G.F. Forwood earned the right to explore an area covering parts of Kanagulk, Balmoral and Cavenish in March.
