Police say "human error" caused Sunday afternoon's fatal crash at Dadswells Bridge.
Acting Sergeant Heath Martin of Horsham Highway Patrol said police investigations suggested the driver turned right out of the car park at the Giant Koala tourist attraction and "failed to give way" to a truck travelling west towards Horsham.
"Police have spoken to the truck driver, and there is no reason to believe he was travelling more than 80 (the speed limit through the area) at the time," Acting Sergeant Martin said.
"Visibility is good there and we don't think road conditions played a role in the crash."
Acting Sergeant Martin said the driver that died in the incident, previously reported as being a woman in her 30s, was an American citizen.
UPDATE 6PM:
The Department of Transport has confirmed drivers along the Western Highway travelling through Dadswells Bridge are experiencing heavy delays, but the road has not been closed off.
