CFA District 17 operations officer Lindsay Barry said an incident at Horsham Police Station on Thursday morning turned out to be a false alarm.
Meanwhile, a private landowner has extinguished a 10 by five-metre grass fire on the corner of the Wimmera Highway and Horsham-Noradjuha Road at Vectis.
Operations officer Alfred Mason said three brigades headed to the intersection around 11.45am, but were called off before arriving as the fire had been extinguished.
9.08am: One Horsham emergency service needed to help another on Thursday morning, after a fire alarm went off at the police station on Roberts Avenue.
Horsham Country Fire Authority volunteers were called to the station at around 8.43am.
Inspector Di Thomson, one of the evacuees, said there was no visual fire in the building.
"The CFA is working out what caused the alarm," she said.
"We just had internal renovations to the police station - new walls, wiring and phone extensions - so something could be tripping."
More to come.
