Update: 5,05pm A Powercor spokesman was not able to provide any details on outages in Nhill.
He said Powercor crews conducted scheduled maintenance works at four location across Dimboola to replace cross arms, low voltage leads and other equipment on the network.
"Power was temporarily interrupted to 173 customers between 9:09am and 3:40pm in order for works to be completed safely," the spokesman said. "All affected customers were contacted by Powercor last week to provide advance notice of the outages.
"The four different jobs were bundled up to minimise impacts to customers, meaning one outage rather than several.
"Planned maintenance is an essential part of how we manage our network.
"Planned outages allow our crews to safely maintain the electricity network so we can keep delivering reliable power to homes and businesses.
"By doing this planned work today, we are reducing the risk of unplanned blackouts in the future."
People impacted by planned outages could refer to the advice on the Powercor website and from the state Government on how to prepare:
Earlier: Powercor is investigating power outages in Nhill that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, while planned outages are underway in Dimboola, Antwerp and Tarranyurk.
More than 40 customers were affected by outages in Nhill at about 2pm.
In Dimboola the planned outages have been affecting 166 customers.
