
A TEENAGE boy will face Children's Court, after allegedly assaulting a police officer while being arrested for drug possession in Horsham.
Horsham Acting Sergeant Troy Curran said the incident occurred at 2.25am on Sunday.

"The person was arrested and charged with possessing a drug of dependence, which was cannabis, and also issued a COVID ticket for being out without a good reason," he said.
"He also allegedly assaulted the officer while being detained. The officer didn't need to go to hospital."
As part of Operation Sentinel, Victoria Police can issue on the spot fines of up to $1,652 for individuals not social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.
On Sunday, the state government extended State of Emergency in Victoria by four weeks, allowing police to continue to enforce social distancing in this way until May 11.
There have been nine COVID-19 cases recorded the Wimmera, the most recent being in Horsham Rural City last Wednesday.
